Ithaca College Strike Called Off After 11 Hours of Bargaining
After over a year of negotiations between Ithaca College's administration and contingent faculty union, including an eleven hour bargaining session on Sunday night, the two parties settled on a contract. As a result, the contingent faculty strike scheduled to take place on March 28 and 29 has been called off. The contract offers pay parity for part-time faculty and increased job-stability for full-time faculty. Despite the parties agreeing on the updated contract, the NLRB will continue reviewing an unfair labor practices case mostly surrounding the firing of contingent faculty members who formed a union in June 2016.
