BMW strike halts Mini car production
Employees across three BMW manufacturing plants in the United Kingdom went on strike today. The workers are being represented by Unite and are fighting against the automaker's elimination of its final-salary pension plan. The strike action has stopped the production of the Mini and prompted BMW to urge the union to rejoin them at the bargaining table. Seven more stoppages are expected throughout April and May.
