Michigan workplace fatalities highest in a decade
Workplace deaths in Michigan reached a decade-high in 2016. Over half of the 43 workers who were killed died from falls. This marks a 48 percent increase from 2015, when 29 deaths were reported. A professor at Michigan State University is expected to release a statewide report on the deaths in June. By law, the The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is unable to investigate the deaths of the self employed, federal, aviation, and train workers.
