Indian Technology Workers Worry About a Job Threat: Technology
As offshoring decreases in popularity, information technology jobs in India have been put at risk. Automation and AI are all potential threats, but fears have been heightened by President Trump’s promise to reshore jobs and restrict visa laws that allow Indian citizens to work in the US. The IT industry in India generates more than $150 billion annually, employs 4 million people, and is one of India’s most important gateways to the middle class. For rural youths, working in technology with India’s outsourcing companies is one of the best ways to ensure a stable future, even though competition for jobs is fierce. For experienced IT workers who have already been laid off, it is even harder to find jobs, as they struggle to reskill themselves.
