The United Food and Commercial Workers labor union has called for thousands of workers at Fred Meyers, a grocery store chain in Oregon and Washington, to boycott over 50 of the chain’s stores. The call to boycott comes after the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 555 accused Fred Meyers of using one-on-one meetings with employees as an intimidation tactic ahead of a scheduled bargaining session. Representatives of Fred Meyers have denied the claim. But, the union has filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board.
