City Council votes to expand living wage law to hotels near LAX
The Los Angeles City Council gave preliminary approval Wednesday to an ordinance that would expand the city's living wage law to include hotels near Los Angeles International Airport. The ordinance would extend the 1997 statute to include 3,500 workers, forcing employers to pay them hourly rates of $9.39 per hour with health benefits, or at least $10.64 per hour without health benefits.
