German jobless total rises again
German unemployment moved back above the four million mark in December, after dipping below in November for the first time in four years. According to the Federal Labour Agency, the number out of work rose by 12,000 to 4.008 million. The unemployment rate remained at 9.6 percent. But the figures showed a steep drop when adjusted for seasonal factors such as increased summer construction work. Germany has been seeing better job creation after years of slow growth.
