U.S. cracks down on hiring of illegal immigrants
The Department of Homeland Security issued its "No-Match" regulation on Sunday, giving companies 90 days to confirm that a new employee is eligible to work when the employee's given Social Security number doesn't match the information the government has on file. Many small business owners worry that they don't have the resources necessary to verify records to the government's satisfaction, nor to pay the fines levied if the regulation is found to have been violated.
