Benjamin Aaron, an Expert in Labor Law, Dies at 91
Comparative labor law expert Benjamin Aaron, who worked diligently throughout his life to foster democracy in the workplace and increase safeguards for non-union employees, died in Los Angeles Saturday at age 91. Aaron had served on presidential commissions during the Roosevelt, Truman and Johnson administrations, advising on wartime collective bargaining agreements, postwar wage stabilization, and the effects of increased automation in manufacturing, respectively. In addition, Aaron was a leader in the development of the study of comparative labor law, and worked to introduce European systems of cooperation between management and workers to American firms.
