Northwest promotes key managers
Northwest Airlines unveiled a major realignment of its management team Monday, with moves designed to improve relations with employees and customers and place greater emphasis on the international and regional flying businesses. Julie Hagen Showers, vice president of labor relations, was promoted to senior vice president of in-flight services. She is among 16 Northwest executives who will have new duties on Oct. 1. "The flight attendants now have a representative in any senior management meeting," Northwest spokesman Ben Hirst said. "It will be representation that is co-equal with the other groups." Suzanne Boda, vice president of in-flight services, has resigned and is leaving the company after 24 years.
