California sues 2 janitorial firms
State officials in California have filed suit against Excell Cleaning & Building Services Inc. and MO Restaurant Cleaning Services of California Inc., charging the janitorial firms with flagrant violations of labor laws including paying employees less than minimum wage and denying them overtime pay and meal breaks. The companies, which provide janitors to a number of popular restaurant chains in California, have been under investigation since employees complained to the Labor and Workforce Development Agency last year.
