NLRB process likely to drag on
The NLRB announced is tagging charges of unfair labor practices filed by the WGA against producers for further review by general counsel Ron Meisburg. In filing, the WGA charged the AMPTP refused to bargain in good faith by threatening to back out of negotiations unless the writers union removed certain demands such as for jurisdiction over TV and animation royalties. The review will likely take a month or more, in addition to a possible appeal hearing, adding further tension to a standoff already in second month.
