Guild board favors deal, with caution
Union leaders have briefed the West Coast board of the Writers Guild of America on a deal that might end the months-long strike against Hollywood studios, and received a favorable response. While the board is withholding official approval of the deal until the specifics of the new contract are known, the pressure is on to end the strike before the upcoming television pilot season begins.
