A Detroit area UAW local is claiming that Chrysler broke its recent labor agreement by laying off 119 workers last week. The charges, leveed by UAW Local 412, are the first indication of discontent since the major automakers cut new deals with the union last fall. Chrysler claims the layoffs do not violate the agreement and are part of a standard transformation plan announced last fall.
