GM to idle truck plant due to American Axle strike
General Motors Corporation will shut down its Pontiac, MI truck plant due to a United Auto Workers strike against supplier American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. Workers went on strike Tuesday in dispute of American Axle's plan to reduce wage and benefit costs. The contract dispute has 3,600 workers on strike in Michigan and New York after talks had collapsed last week.
