Merger plan upsetting to NWA pilots, expert says
A proposed merger between Northwest Airlines and Delta has Northwest pilots worried about losing their seniority. Experts point to the complications resulting from the 2001 merger of TWA and American Airlines, in which pilots are still tied up in litigation, as a warning for what can happen when pilots' status and experience are not accounted for in merger plans. Pilots are concerned experienced pilots could end up working small, more regional flights than there status deserves.
