Unusual perks: Goldman Sachs covers sex changes
Led by Goldman Sachs, several large financial firms are offering varying levels of coverage for sex reassignment surgery in an effort to diversify their workforce and attract top talent. While firms such as Wachovia and Bank of America cover trans-gender procedures only if deemed 'medically necessary', Goldman Sachs covers the entire surgery even as an elective procedure, in addition to covering related medications and counseling. Experts predict even the most conservative companies will likely adopt similar policies in an effort to encourage more and more diverse job candidates. Goldman Sachs was ranked No. 9 on Fortune magazine's annual list of the "100 Best Companies to Work For".
