Food services workers step up protest
Boston-area food service workers picketed Saturday outside the city's two largest convention centers in protest of unfair labor practices on the part of concession giant Aramark Corp. The workers, represented by UNITE HERE charge that Aramark has consistently punished employees for engaging in union activities, and that workers should be treated as permanent employees of the company considering the increase in convention business this calendar year. Aramark employees have been working without a contract since last October.
