DMV workers protest Saturday closures
Over 1,000 employees of the California Department of Motor Vehicles protested around the state Saturday, in opposition to job and pay cuts. The protests were frequently interrupted by disgruntled DMV goers who were less than happy to learn that Saturday hours had been slashed. Complaints have skyrocketed since the cuts, with customers reporting early closings, long lines, and appointments not honored. The protesters, organized by SEIU, are very much in agreement and wanted to show that they came to work Saturday, even though they were not allowed to actually work. The protest was the second in two days.
