Delta, Northwest pilots approve merger pact
As the Delta-Northwest merger draws nearer, 12,000 pilots at both companies have ratified a joint collective bargaining agreement. The pact, approved by 61.74 percent of Delta pilots, and 86.76 percent of Northwest (of those who voted), calls for an 18 percent compounded raise over four years, but has still not laid down a plan for integrating the two companies? seniority lists. Binding arbitration is scheduled to begin if the pilots do not come to terms today.
