Suit targets overtime at Cemex
Mexican owned cement company, Cemex, is being sued by the Labor Department over an estimated $5 million in back wages owed to approximately 2,000 drivers. The company, which operates in 8 domestic states, improperly calculated overtime pay by failing to account for incentive bonuses. The suit was filed in Houston federal court after an investigation of payroll practices from September 2005 to September 2008, and seeks 3 years' worth of back pay for workers.
