Four-month shutdown for Honda UK
Honda, who had already announced their intention to shut down their Swindon, UK plant during the months of February and March, have extended the planned halt in production to the end of May. While negotiation with workers' unions are still ongoing, plant employees will be paid in full through March, and may expect partial pay afterward. The plant shutdown is the latest sign that the downturn in the European car market is far from over.
