Labor deal for SEIU, Boston Archdiocese hospitals
A chain of Boston hospitals reached accord with the Service Employees International Union yesterday. While the details are still unknown, the agreement should better facilitate SEUI 's organizing efforts at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese owned hospitals. SEIU expects that 13,000 Caritas Christi employees could be organized, though the focus of the agreement appears to be more centered on cooperation, collaboration, and ensuring quality care. The deal also includes the Area Trades Council ? a union that represents skilled trades workers.
