Union representatives earn praise from Reno City Council
Police and Fire unions in Reno have agreed to numerous concessions including giving up uniform allowances, holiday pay, and over time pay. The new contract terms will save $97,000, prompting much praise from the Reno City Council as the city attempts to reduce its costs by $3 million. Both groups expressed gratitude towards each other for amicable negotiations, good-faith bargaining, and mutual cooperation in difficult economic times. The union has even agreed to discuss further concessions should they be necessary.
