Hooters settles employment suit
Restaurant chain Hooters settled a law suit filed by Nickolai Grushevski of Corpus Christi, who alleged gender-based employment discrimination seeking both emotional and punitive damages. The details of the settlement are unknown, though the man's lawyer indicated his client was pleased with the resolution of the issue. Incidentally, it isn't the first suit of this sort that Hooters has faced. Hooters settled a lawsuit over a decade ago because it only hires women as waitresses. The outcome of that case permitted the practice, but forced the company to agree to create some gender-neutral positions too. Grushevski argued that settlement was still unfair.
