Toyota union leader shot dead in Venezuela
A Union leader at Toyota in Venezuela was murdered Tuesday. 33-year-old Argenis Vasquez was shot and killed as he was leaving for work Tuesday morning by an unknown man in a gray Chevy vehicle. Toyota had recently indicated it may leave Venezuela as a result of labor conflict and certain government restrictions. Activist claim union leaders are often murdered in the county over competition between different unions for contracts. In fact, another union leader, Kelles Maneiro, was killed on Monday.
