Unions hope to organize Inland Empire warehouse workers
The labor union coalition Change to Win is mounting a drive to organize workers in one of the country's largest warehouse and distribution centers. The union has targeted the logistic hubs in California's San Bernadino and Riverside counties, also known as the Inland Empire, as its starting point for organizing distribution workers across the country in an effort to raise wages, improve workplace conditions, and increase benefits. The area employs almost 113,000 workers and supplies many of the nation's largest retailers.
