Union quarrel disrupts Arrowhead work
The dispute between labor union giant AFL-CIO and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters has taken another turn. Now, under new leadership, the AFL-CIO has issued an ultimatum of sorts - come back or we'll go on without you (and create a competing carpenters' union). The national dispute reached Kansas City over the weekend, when a group of Carpenters placed a protest banner on the Arrowhead stadium renovation site, claiming that the work being done there by the Sheet Metal Workers' Local 2, should belong to them. Local 2 members were initially confused about whether or not to honor the picket line, but have now largely returned to work. The Carpenters' union has complained.
