The new harassment? Same-sex abuse.
United States lawyer Jennifer Braude is currently suing her boss for verbal sexual harassment. Seems like a story that has been heard before, until you learn that Braude's boss is another woman. The case has highlighted the slowly-rising number of same-sex harassment incidents reported in the workplace in recent years. The percentage of total harassment charges filed by men in the US has doubled to 16 percent, and numbers of men filing complaints in Canada have reached the several dozens. Some experts say that as long as there is a competitive, hierarchical work structure there will be harassment in the workplace, while others point out that men who 'harass' other men might perceive it as 'all in good fun' and not even realize that they were crossing a line.
