Chinese Magazine in Turmoil After Resignations
Over eighty employees of one of China's most prestigious business magazines -- including eleven highly placed executives -- have resigned due to a dispute with the magazine's ownership. The executives have been trying to gain greater control over Caijing, which enjoys international partnerships with The Wall Street Journal and Reuters, in order to increase the breadth of its operations as well as the number of its investors. The turmoil threatens a publication that has survived numerous altercations with a government known for harshly censoring news content.
