Workforce Alliance president targeted
Workforce Florida, Inc. voted unanimously yesterday to recommend the suspension of Tampa Workforce Alliance President Renee Gilmore, and has sent letters to the Alliance board of directors, the Governor, and the county commission saying as much. Workforce Alliance has been under investigation for fiscal responsibility which found that the organization spent over $130,000 on food in the last year. $24,000 of this was found unnecessary and has already been paid back, $81,000 more could meet the same fate. Only the Workforce Alliance board has the ability to to suspend Gilmore without pay and chairman Dale Schumacher says they have been considering it since the letter arrived yesterday afternoon. Schumacher says that the communication is something the board is taking very seriously.
