BA strike extends into third day, union wants talks
After a cabin crew strike over the weekend, Britain?s Unite offered to restart talks with British Airways in hopes of resolving the on-going dispute. The dispute centers on British Airways? plans to cut $95 million a year to save money. If talks do not resume, Unite has plans for a second 4-day strike, starting next Saturday. A spokesman for the airline said that 75% of their flights were on time or early over the weekend, as a result of a deal they made with Ryanair to lease planes and cabin crew. A union spokesperson said that the strikes were costing the company and that they could work to reach a solution through negotiation. Cabin crews are due to return to work on Tuesday.
