Calif. gov nixes attempt to modify union elections
On Thursday, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed a bill for the fifth time. the bill would change the union election process for farm workers. The bill would have required the Agricultural Labor Relations Board to call a union victory if the employer influenced the voting process and changed the outcome. Supporters say that the measure would lead to freer elections, but the Governor said that the bill gives an advantage to unions, and does not improve the system.
