Brazil bank workers to strike nationwide over pay
Brazilian bank workers began a strike on Tuesday night, after rejecting a 4.3% salary increase. The workers are asking for an 11% raise, profit sharing and other benefits. Workers in all major cities and states voted to strike. A spokesman for the union said that the banks need to make an offer based on the union demands and their own profits, not on inflation. There are around 460,000 bank workers in Brazil. No end date has been set for the strike
