Mayor Blasts Sick Bill
The Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, spoke out against a new bill that would mandate paid sick leave for workers in New York City. The bill would require 72 hours of paid sick leave a year, and 40 hours for businesses with fewer than 20 employees. The Mayor says that the bill would hurt small businesses, and that the government should not get involved in running business. He also said that the bill would harm the city's recovery, as well as hurt the country. The bill has a veto-proof majority, but also lacks support from the City Council Speaker.
