Hotel workers file complaints against Hyatt
Housekeepers have filed complaints with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, asking the agency to look into high injuries rates among housekeepers at Hyatt hotels. The complaints are against Hyatt hotels in eight cities, including San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles. The complaints say that the workers are given too many rooms to clean per day and that changes should be made to equipment to minimize the physical stress put on workers. A spokesman for Hyatt said that Unite Here was making false claims, and that it was a ploy to get concessions during contract negotiations.
