Approval Seen for 9/11 Deal
Lawyers for Ground Zero workers who are suing the government for failing to protect workers say that they expect to meet a deadline to proceed with an $815 million settlement. 95% of the 10,000 workers who worked on the recovery project have to agree to the settlement for it to take effect. The most severely effected have almost all agreed to the deal, and many are hoping that others will join them. New York Senators Gillibrand and Schumer are also trying to pass a bill that would provide health care to 9/11 first responders.
