Delta Air Lines worker group rejects union
Delta Air Lines TechOps department workers have rejected a union bid. The workers voted 439 to 168 against the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which lost an earlier bid to represent baggage handlers last week. The IAM says that it is investigating claims that Delta interfered in both elections. The Association of Flight Attendants, which also lost its bid to represent Delta flight attendants has also accused the company of interfering in that election. Delta customer service agents are voting on a union now, with results expected to be announced next month. The IAM has also filed for elections for clerical and office workers, which has to be approved by the National Mediation Board. The TechOps election marks the eight election that unions have lost at Delta.
