Croatia's United Unions Threaten General Strike on Dec. 10
The Croatian Trade Union Association says that if the government does not agree to a referendum, unions will strike in protest on December 10. The referendum would guarantee the current labor rights of public sector employees. Over 700,000 people have signed a petition in support for the measure. The unions say that smaller strikes will be organized before a general strike on the 10th. The unions will meet with the Prime Minister on November 19.
