Mich. court asked to take child-care union dispute
The Mackinac Center Legal Foundation has asked the Michigan Supreme Court to allow them to pursue a lawsuit against the United Auto Workers and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, who represent at-home child care providers. The Foundation;s suit has been rejected by sate appeals court twice. The unions say that they were elected to represent the 40,000 child-care providers. Another lawsuit is in federal court in Grand Rapids.
