Greek transport workers strike against austerity
Public transport workers waled off the job in a 24-hour strike on Wednesday in protest against austerity measures. Athens had no buses, metros or trolleys running and the national railway was also shut down. The government plans to restructure the transportation companies and reduce subsidies. 2,000 workers marched in Athens against the measures. The strike has not affected ferry and flight services. Unions are calling for Greece's seventh national strike this year on December 15.
