California family leave program gets high marks in study
A new study indicates that in the seven years since its implementation, California's Paid Family Leave Act has had little negative impact on businesses, while notably improving workers' quality of life. The Act, which provides replacement pay to correspond with the unpaid leave provided by federal law, has allowed new parents to spend more time with their children, as well as giving workers the ability to more easily care for sick relatives. The study also indicated that such leaves improved employee morale and productivity.
