SC AG asks judge to dismiss Boeing union lawsuit
South Carolina's attorney general is asking a federal judge to dismiss charges against Governor Nikki Haley. The International Association of Machinists filed a lawsuit against the governor and her nomination for South Carolina's Department of Labor, Licensing and Fishing, alleging that remarks the governor made about keeping Boeing plants non-union amount to intimidation of workers. The attorney general said that the remarks were made before the governor took office, but are protected under free speech anyways. The Machinists say that they do not want the government to stop workers from organizing, but to stay out of it.
