As debates over union and worker rights rage all over the country, a new poll finds that the majority of Americans support workers' rights to bargain collectively, and are against cutting salary and benefits of public workers to reduce deficits. Though unions were not as supported, the polls showed that most people believed that people should have the right to collectively bargain. 61% thought that salaries of public workers were either "about right" or "too low". Democrats opposed cutting collective bargaining rights by 71% and Independents by 62%.
