N.J> unions vow to fight Sweeney's bill boosting workers' payments for benefits
New Jersey unions say that they will protest against a proposed bill that would increase health care costs for public sector workers. The bill, proposed by Democratic Senate President Sweeney, would have workers pay a portion of their health care premiums and give them more options to choose from. Over three years, the highest earners would pay 30% of their health care premiums. The Governor has also introduced a plan that would have current retirees pay part of their premiums. The unions say that they will fight against the bill, calling it an attack on collective bargaining.
