Lower workers' comp rates?
Ohio Governor John Kasich has proposed cutting workers' compensation premiums by 4%, a move that he estimates would save around $65 million a year. The cut would not involve a reduction in premium levels. The state says that the cut is a good option because of return on investments and a decline in claims. The Governor said that this move was the beginning of a series to try and help small businesses. Previous attempts to make changes to workers' compensation have been resisted by unions and other groups.
