BA strike: Airline and union agree to end dispute
After an almost two-year dispute that led to 22 days of strikes, British Airways and United announced that they reached a tentative contract agreement. The two-year agreement includes a 4% raise the first year and a 3.5% pay increase the second. Unite, which represents around 10,000 British Airways workers says that the deal also restores travel perks, which had become a central issue in the debate. The airline said that it was pleased to have reached an agreement and to be able to move forward. Unite said that they were glad the airline negotiated with them, and that they expect the contract to be ratified.
