Boeing braces for factory labour fight
American aerospace giant Boeing petitioned a court to dismiss a case targeting the company for anti-union practices. Specifically, Boeing is charged with opening a plant in South Carolina as punishment for unionized workers at its Washington state home base for previous strikes. The case, brought forth by the National Labor Relations Board, has been a lightning rod for advocates of both labor and management over, and has been heavily politicized by both Republicans and Democrats. Experts say finding a solution to the dispute could be a lengthy and difficult process.
