Foreign Students in Work Visa Program Stage Walkout at Plant
Foreign students brought to the states through a cultural-exchange program went on strike yesterday saying that they had been used for underpaid labor. Hundreds of students brought here under a J-1 visa had been set up to work at a Hershey's chocolate packing plant through several layers of contractors. This long-established summer visa program held by the State Department has had complaints in the past, but none like this. It is uncertain at this point what will be done to rectify this situation.
