10,000 Nurses, Community Supporters to Converge at 61 Congressional Offices in 21 U.S. States Sept. 1
National Nurses United, the largest nurses union in the country, is sponsoring a day of action on September 1. Nurses and others will visit the offices of elected representatives and ask them to support a tax on Wall Street. The nurses say that they see the effects of the recession on their patients, and that the tax would provide a beginning to helping solve those problems. Events are planned in states across the country and range from visits to offices to events at soup kitchens and street theater.
